Oven potato fries, vegan, plantbased
Oh dear, my spicy oven-baked potato wedges.…..“Is there more?” I hear this literally every time I make these potatoes. I don’t know what it is, but this spice-mix is somehow addictive.
For years we used a store-bought potato spice-mix I once found in a small grocery store in the little town in Switzerland where I’ve grown up. For all the Swiss readers: you can buy it in the Volg. I used it without even thinking of what exactly is in it until one day, after I got more conscious of what I eat I discovered, that it contains MSG, which is monosodium glutamate. This is a commonly used flavour enhancer, and nutrition people have not quite figured out yet if it’s really harmful to our bodies or not. Some people are even allergic to it, so for me personally I prefer to avoid foods with this kind of funny ingredients.
Make with different types of potato or add some extra veggies
So therefore I started to experiment with my own #fabsgoodfood oven-baked potato wedges mix. And after a few adjustings I finally got it written down below. It literally makes everybody go into the “is there more?” mode. These potato wedges are so good. Feel free to make them also with sweet potato. Sometimes I even throw in some extra veggies like broccoli or brussel sprouts and it turns out fantastic.

Oven-baked potato wedges, spicy, plantbased
Cut the potatoes and make just as much as needed in order to avoid that the baking tray is overloaded. The better I distribute them on the baking tray the more the get the hot air from the oven and they get really nice and crispy on the outside, and moist on the inside, exactly what you expect from oven-baked potato fries.
Make these potatoes with my smokey tofu sandwich, the tempeh veggie burgers or as a snack together with the vegan nacho cheese sauce.
